Class XII Results for State Board Exams - PUC (Pre University Certificate) Karnataka - for the academic year 2012-13 has been declared. Students can check their RESULTS.

This year the state has recorded the best result in over a decade with a whopping 60% passing. The topper under the Science stream recorded 594 out of 600 while Commerce and Arts saw 593 and 574 respectively.

Good news is that both urban and rural areas have improved their score this year. Some 56.73% of urban students and 59.16% from rural areas had cleared the 2012 exam . Among the education districts, Udupi has regained the top slot after a year's gap. Some 92.72% of students have come out with flying colours, knocking Mangalore off the perch.

This year onwards board exams are extremely vital for students from the Science stream (admissions to IITs and NITs were based only on the entrance test and not board exams till last year) as well. Students who are looking for a seat in the IITs have to be amongst the top 20 percentile of all the boards of the country. 

The peformance and the statistics in this years board exams shows that students are pretty keen on joining the top institute of the country and were equally serious about it.
